Green Curry Revisited

I am pleased to announce that there will be a drastic reduction in my dining out bills in the future. The green and red curries in a can that I bought last week are YUMMY. They aren't too hot at all, and are very tasty. I added some broccoli, tofu, and shitake mushrooms and ate it all over some short grain brown rice. My wallet is happy and so is my tummy. Of course, there is nothing like having the chef hand-grind the spices for your curry, as they do in my favorite little Thai restaurant in Des Moines...but when you're trying to save money and you have a craving for Thai, this is it!

That pic is making me hungry! I love Thai food but I'm not too good at making it. I'm inspired to go check out my local Asian foods stores for curry now. Its one of the few exotic foods that my DH will actually eat. Glad they aren't too hot, I've had my tastebuds burnt by premade curries in the past. Glad you've found a solution to takeout, there is such a satistifaction in finding a way to do it yourself :-)

I had the best tofu green curry yesterday...at a restaurant. That picture looks good. How are you making your tofu for this?

My tofu is plain and simple...I just cube it, and throw it in with everything to heat it (extra firm, Wildwood Farms tofu). When I get curry at the restaurant, I always ask for steamed tofu instead of fried. I like it nice and squishy :) I do love a good fried tofu however...just depends on my mood and what dish it is.

Go curry! It's taken me a while to develop a taste for curry but in the right place, in the right amount, in the right way... very yummy. Thanks for sharing, Sara!
